A few weeks ago, I lost my voice due to a nasty cold. Though weeks of fatigue and sleep deprivation drove me bonkers, one good thing came out of the misery - the husky voice that I had always wanted. Quickly preparing myself for what I envisioned to be my best karaoke performance, I started making a mental list of those who bear the likeness to my newfound sexiness. Several artists crossed my mind such as Lee Hyo Ri, Baek Ji Young, Park Hwayobi, and of course, Davichi.

A female pop and R&B duo consisting of members Lee Hae Ri and Gang Min Kyung, Davichi made their debut in early 2007 with Amaranth. The richness of their distinctive, husky vocal timbre and the depth of emotions give the duo an edge over other numerous newbies. Using less falsetto, and more chest vocals, Davichi pulls and sustains the high notes with much control. Their debut album contains mostly easy listening and mid-tempo ballads with lyrics that speak volumes about love's pain, loss, and sorrow.

Wow,Victoria for a new solo album,if you are thinking that way,you are also wrong like me!

She just modelled for a album titled Groovy Honey House Vol. 1,the photo is showing a very different side of leader Vic in the album jacket, the album was launched on 10th December!

The album consists of several American artists, not even one korean artists involved in the album except for Victoria's face for the cover, this once again shows how popular K Pop is and people are using Victoria to raise album's selling!!

I think many fans missed the Naeng Myung actions from Jessica and Park Myung Su.

However, the duo made their comeback on MBC Entertainment Awards yesterday, the duo showed a confident performance on the awards giving ceremony,Park Myung Su has become more confident on stage now, thanks to Jessica perhaps.

Kudos to snsdlife for the quick upload, enjoy the cold performance here!

For reasons beyond my comprehension, the powers-that-be have chosen the weakest song on T-ara's Absolute First Album to be their first plug. Once you get past the trend rehash of auto-tune, fuzzy paws, and repetitive kindergarten English that is Bo Peep Bo Peep (Track 3) though, it all gets better from there.

T-ara entered autumn this year somewhere at the bottom of the girl group heap. Never mind Kara and Brown Eyed Girls' breakthrough years and Girls' Generation's continued domination, the group faced an uphill battle just among the rookies. In comparison to the more talented 2NE1, the cuter f(x), the sexier 4Minute, and the fiercer After School, T-ara was short on the wow factor. (Breaking the hearts of Yoo Seung Ho fangirls with your debut MV can only get you so far.) T-ara got that break in September with the project single TTL (Time to Love) (Track 10), their collaboration with back-from-oblivion boy band Supernova that improbably managed to boost both groups' careers into relevancy again.

TTL (Time to Love) is a great gimmick - mixing and matching idols for a mixed-gender project group - but it's also a great song that's refreshingly different from other recent K-pop dance hits. The sultry ballad refrain, mellow mid-tempo rap, and gentle dance beats combine for a catchy blast to the past, more late nineties than late 2000s. Souped-up sequel TTL Listen 2 (Track 12) brings things up to speed with harder beats and hip-hop arrangement. While the vocals portions are stronger in TTL, TTL Listen 2 stands out with the rap, in particular Hyo Min's portions. Together, TTL (Time to Love) and TTL Listen 2 successfully bring out two sides of the song and the group, sealing the deal on a unique project collaboration that I would rank among the best K-pop singles of the year.

Singer and actor Rain held a concert in Las Vegas for Christmas, performing for his fans in the United States for the first time in three years, according to a press release by his agency J.Tune Entertainment.

The 27-year-old pop star performed December 24 and 25 at The Colosseum in Caesars Palace where worldwide pop stars including Celine Dion and Elton John have performed in the past.

J.Tune said that more than half the crowd attending Rain's two-hour long show were Caucasians, proving that the star of Hollywood pic "Ninja Assassin" had gained increased recognition in the country unlike his past shows where Asians composed the majority of his audience.

Rain, whose real name is Jung Ji-hoon, had last performed at the same venue for the same occasion three years ago after first performing in the country at the Madison Square Garden Theater in New York in February the same year.

Last week's gig, the first time for Rain to perform in the U.S. after being forced to cancel his concert in Los Angeles and Hawaii in 2007, were the U.S. leg of his world tour which has taken place in several countries including South Korea, Japan, Indonesia and Hong Kong.

Rain has been one of the most successful celebrities in the entertainment industry since his debut in 2002.

His singing career has gained him massive popularity throughout Asia and he also appeared in several movies and TV series. He recently starred in Wachowski Brothers production "Ninja Assassin", which opened in theaters in late November.

The window opened at 8pm on 28th December on GMarket for Big Bang’s ‘2010 Big Show’, and the 12,000 seats for 29th January’s show were sold out in just 5 minutes. About 150,000 fans had logged in to get the tickets, making it a record ratio of 12.5:1 competition for the tickets, showing the great interests for Big Bang’s upcoming concert.

Especially since the Big Bang members have only been promoting solo for year 2009, and busy with their Japanese promotions, it has been quite some time since we have seen Big Bang perform as a group domestically. There is great anticipation for this concert by the whole group and in addition, the concert is said to have a strong concert branding over the past years.

The Big Bang members have also gathered together for the concert directing meetings and poster filming amidst their busy schedule preparing for the year-end shows.

It is revealed that for this concert, there will be an overhanging stage which will bring the group closer to the audience. And this is idea given by DaeSung and SeungRi personally.

The concert will take place from 29th till 31st January 2010. And the 2nd and 3rd window sales for the ticket will take place on 29th and 30th December on GMarket.

South Korea’s Wonder Girls made history this week by becoming the first Korean singers to chart on the United States’ Billboard Hot 100, and the pop group is eyeing the lucrative Chinese market next.

The girl band’s hit single “Nobody” entered the chart at number 76, putting them ahead of Carrie Underwood (#77), Five for Fighting (#83) and Usher (#92).

A press release by the group’s agency JYP Entertainment said Thursday this is the first time any Koreans has ever placed on the chart in all its 115-year history.

The Billboard rankings are determined by an artiste’s number of airplays, album sales, as well as digital downloads.

Earlier this week, an airplay analysis chart by music website Mediabase showed that the Wonder Girls’ airplay ranking improved 16 spots week-on-week to the 107th position after “Nobody” was played 65 times by radio stations across America in the week October 12-18.

Reports said “Nobody” also outsold singles by pop stars Madonna and Shakira, with over 30,000 copies off the shelves in the same week.

The five-piece girl group also toured with popular US boyband Jonas Brothers as their opening act for 53 concerts.

With success in America, and parts of Asia already under their charm, the Wonder Girls are looking to conquer the massive Chinese market next.

The band will be making its foray into China later this month during the Mobile Festival in Beijing, alongside other famous faces such as Jackie Chan and Zhang Ziyi.

“Nobody” was originally released in the girls’ native language Korean, and later remade into English for their US debut. This time, the hit single will undergo a third release – in Mandarin – for the Wonder Girls’ venture into China.

Miss Korea 2006 Lee Honey is now an actress as well as a traditional musician. Her latest outing is as one of several stars cast to play Elle, the Reese Witherspoon part in the musical version of “Legally Blonde.”

“I’m really enjoying the musical,” she says. “I’ve loved being on stage since I was a child. I started playing the gayageum at the age of four, and I’ve been on stage for nearly 20 years now. I also learned singing Korean traditional songs so I can show variety of skills on stage. Then I got to do musical, where I can interact with the audience through dance, singing and acting.”

Lee finished fourth in the Miss Universe pageant in 2007. “I entered the Miss Korea pageant because my mother suggested it,” she recalls. “My mom says she didn’t think I would have an ordinary life, so told me to show the world how far I could go with confidence.” Lee’s mother, Moon Jae-sook, is professor of Korean traditional music at Ewha Womans University, and is also a nationally recognized “intangible cultural asset” as a gayageum player.

The Kim Sisters were arguably the first girl group in the history of Korean popular music. They debuted in their teens in the early 1950s, and were extremely popular among U.S. soldiers stationed in Korea. They played many instruments and danced, and enjoyed substantial success in the United States when they debuted there in 1959. After returning to Korea in 1970, they released a number of hit songs.

Hoping to emulate the Kim Sisters’ success, there were many new “sister” groups from the late 1950s.

When did this transmute into the current manufactured girl band format of four or five girls singing cute songs and pleasing mainly the eyes of male fans? Renowned pop critic Im Jin-mo says, “Since girl groups are normally the product of an entertainment management agency in all aspects of the making — from the appearance of each member of the groups to every song they sing, the first girl ‘idol’ group in Korea would have been S.E.S.”

After revealing to you guys the made in china's SNSD,netizens managed to find another 2NE1-similar group in Thailand.

As you can see in the joint photo above, although the members don't really look like 2NE1's members, but the style they pose and the way they dressed, people will think that they are 2NE1 if not seeing it carefully.

This new group in Thailand using the name Candy Mafia, they have released the teaser for their song a few days ago,the title of their song is Mafia.

If you watch the teaser of their new song, you will notice that they are actually copying 2NE1's Fire MV (Space version).

This once again shows that K Pop is now on the top in Asia,i just wonder whether there will be second version of Super Junior or Big Bang in the near future...

With free music! You, too, can get Epik High’s free Christmas time jingle!

Epik High, as a service to their fans, has released “Gangsta Santa,” performed by Tablo and Mithra Jin. The song is available for free download in the Map the Soul online store: http://mapthesoul.com/shop/product/47

This song is a promotion for Epik High’s “Last Christmas Concert” to take place on December 24, 2009. Tickets are also on sale to international fans on the Map the Soul website and through IPark portals for Korean fans.

This will be their last annual Christmas concert for a few years, as DJ Tukutz began his 2 years of mandatory military service on October 15th, two days after getting married to his first love.

At this year’s concert, Epik High hopes to be able to share with fans feelings of love and missing for DJ Tukutz, who will return to Epik High in 2011. Until then, Tablo and Mithra will continue to work on individual projects, though Epik High is not expected to have another album until Tukutz’s return. See you later, Tukutz!

As for the free song… what a sweet Christmas surprise!

In year 2009, groups have a cause a dispute. But this year, there have been many bands debuting, one of them includes SHU-I.

Members including Leader Inseok, Changhyun, Hyungjun, Minho and Jinseok. SHU-I Means So Hot Union of Idols, which in chinese means "handsome".

How were the members formed? In this year's april's they've already chose R-EAL's member Inseok and Changhyun later joined Minho, Hyungjun and Jinseok. And then the 5 of them started their strenuous training, to debut perfectly.

Changhyun said: "Before during the auditions, Inseok together with me, saw Hyungjun. I got chosen, then Inseok, After that was Hyung Jun, and even later on it was Jinseok and Minho. I never thought that we will be chosen, and during april our group was formed and we started training."

Now, they've been living in the dorm, i thought if the members stay together there ought to be a dispute, but they said that each of them have an individual role to play.

Changhyun is the house's "dad"..... because he is a reliable and responsible man. Everytime, he is the first one who will be able to understand and feel for the member. Sometimes when the members lose control while playing, he will be able to control them

Inseok although he is the leader, but compared he is the house's "mum".. because he is in charge of the member's daily food diet, to see if the rest get enough nutrients and check whether they take good care of their faces. He always brings along alot of this facial products, and give it to the members, hope that everyone will perform and present a very beautiful face to the audience.

Jinseok.... is the house chef everything is taken care by him.
Minho.... is the house' good boy, will always share the housework burden
Hyungjun.... doesn't know anything... he only knows how to create trouble~~

Minho said: "Between brothers there no conflicts.. only sometimes, in order to avoid conflicts, we will use the scissors paper stone games to determine who wins and then the other party will admit defeat."

Due to the song "please help me" , they felt that it is different with the previous song "BOMB BOMB BOMB". Others have more impression of BOMB BOMB BOMB, perhaps this song have more rhythm than the new song, the new song seems much weaker, but seems like more people like it.

Inseok said: "Before SHU-I is very successful , because it not only establish in korea, we still went to guangzhou to go for china-korea music exchange, saw lots of fan's support. We will continue working hard!!"

I've also asked SHU-I what is their upcoming plans..

They said: "Please help me promotion work will be only up to 2010 start of the year... After that , members will starts to go on solo, because the company wants to present our own personal talents. So in year 2010, you will see more of our solo activities, we will try different things. But our group spirit will still be there, because whoever forgets this spirit means that they have break with this faith, which have to chop off our hands... (this is a vow taken before debut)"

In the interview, we've seen SHU-I different image. they were serious at times, but sometimes they were very funny.
It's a not bad group... Please support everyone!!

Pop sensation Wonder Girls sold over 30,000 copies of their debut single “Nobody” during the week of October 11 earning them the No. 76 position with a bullet on the Hot 100. This is the first time ever a music group from South Korea has debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. Super Junior T - Rokkugo HQ MV
Lol it's catchy and I never get bored of it ^^
"Gukkoro" means backwards in korean hence the song's name Rokkugo mirrored
So the song makes no sense whatsoever lol
I like the cartoon characters they have :]
I realized this while subbing that they're doing a little part of a previous song from 2006 :]

Super Junior T (Feat Moeyan) - Rokkugo PV
Super Junior T's Japanese Debut :)
Surprisingly, Moeyan's voices fit well with SUJU T and the song~

Netizens' eyes are sharp, but am i a sharp eyed netizen?Calling myself a netizen because i surf the net more than 10 hours a day!

i was feeling boring yesterday and watched some old clips from my videos collections, when i was watching KARA's clip during Chu Seok Special,i spotted something very interesting that i think i should share with all k pop fans!

As you know,KARA will be having their showcase in Japan next year, the first thing you have to do before visiting a foreign country is learning the language, although they will only go to Japan next year, but the girls seemed to have prepared themselves well for the new environment!

Can you see the poster of Japanese alphabets Hiragana and Katakana that was hung on the wall besides KARA's dining table, that's the best proof to show that KARA'
s members have already put in effort to learn japanese, hope that Japanese fans can see their hard work and give them more love when they visit Japan a few months later!

Have a look at the photos below!
