Singer and actor Rain held a concert in Las Vegas for Christmas, performing for his fans in the United States for the first time in three years, according to a press release by his agency J.Tune Entertainment.

The 27-year-old pop star performed December 24 and 25 at The Colosseum in Caesars Palace where worldwide pop stars including Celine Dion and Elton John have performed in the past.

J.Tune said that more than half the crowd attending Rain's two-hour long show were Caucasians, proving that the star of Hollywood pic "Ninja Assassin" had gained increased recognition in the country unlike his past shows where Asians composed the majority of his audience.

Rain, whose real name is Jung Ji-hoon, had last performed at the same venue for the same occasion three years ago after first performing in the country at the Madison Square Garden Theater in New York in February the same year.

Last week's gig, the first time for Rain to perform in the U.S. after being forced to cancel his concert in Los Angeles and Hawaii in 2007, were the U.S. leg of his world tour which has taken place in several countries including South Korea, Japan, Indonesia and Hong Kong.

Rain has been one of the most successful celebrities in the entertainment industry since his debut in 2002.

His singing career has gained him massive popularity throughout Asia and he also appeared in several movies and TV series. He recently starred in Wachowski Brothers production "Ninja Assassin", which opened in theaters in late November.
